On Mysore Road, at Maddur take left towards Kollegal. From Kollegal, ask for Yelandur via Yelandur, you can reach BR Hills.
You can come down on the other side of the hill via K.Gudi and Chamrajnagara. Good ride. All rough roads. K.Gudi is good too. Camping area. You can stay here at a heavy cost. Bookings made at Sringar shopping complex, MG road. KSDTC Jungle lodges. From Chamrajnagar, you can go to Nanjungud, Wayanad or Masanagudi too.

No proper accomodations there. You can stay at some guest houses in Yelandur. They won't allow you on top of the hill after 6 pm or so So you need to plan that. There is a PWD guest house, and a Forest Guest house on top of the hill. You may try your luck there. Also the temple authorities have some accomodation too. You may try there also.
