Distance from Bangalore: 85Kms

Route: Bangalore-Kanakapura-ask for Sangama(left deviation) From Sangama, need to cross the river..take a bus for 10kms forest drive to reach Mekedatu.

In summer, u can take risk crossing the river in bikes.

Interests:

• River and the rock structures.
• Scenic ride all the way..especially those last 30 kms.
• Not so good roads.
• Kaveri Fishing camp - costly to get in and stay for the night. Close to forests...wild elephants are normal in the other side of the river.

Nearby: Thalakadu/Shivanasamudra waterfalls..around 80kms from Kanakapura. Route from Mekedatu/Sangama: Come back to Kanakapura..take Malavelli route.. At Malavelli take left deviation…20kms from here is Shivanasamudra falls.

Hints:

1. Start very early and try to reach Sangama around 7AM(With food).
   
2. Weekends, the place is getting polluted a lot.
