How to reach Mulaingiri peak base from Chikmagalur? (route & distance)

Mullaingiri is around 16 kms from Chikmagalur:

There is only one *known* trail that goes to Mullaingiri peak. There is a deviation on the Chikmagalur - Kemmangundi road some 10 kms before Attingundi.

This goes to Seetalaingiri and further up to Mullaingiri. Follow the road signs as it is quite easy to get lost. You need to ride all the way down to get to Baba Budan/Dattatreya Peeta. Do call me if you need directions.

BTW, Camping out at Mullaingiri is not a good idea unless you have good wind-proof tents - the winds, quite cold and gusty, can go upto 60 kmph at night. Mullaingiri peak has recorded highest wind speed in karnataka! for the same reason we have some windmill farms nearby.

You can also camp inside the cave on the cliff, about 100 meters from poojari's house(only soul there). He would also provide you with fire wood for warmth at nights.
